Sr. Director, Finance

The Sr. Director, Finance is responsible for all finance related matters and may lead a small team of employees.
Responsibilities:
Lead the financial function including, accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, treasury, tax, insurance and:
- Supervise, develop and lead the finance team.
- Ensure financial systems and records are adequate, accurate and management accounts are produced on a timely basis.
- Ensure financial planning and reporting are adequate to provide management with pertinent information on the performance of the business and assist in strategic business planning.
- Develop budgets, forecasts and financial modeling scenarios to assist management for strategic planning purposes.
- Manage cash in accordance with approved budgets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting standards, tax regulations and other relevant financial regulatory requirements.
- Work with tax advisors in computing and filing tax returns on a timely basis.
- Review and ensure insurance coverage is appropriate.
- Develop and implement financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assist the Board and President/CEO to develop and implement the business plan including improving business operating efficiency and meeting growth targets.
Develop and maintain an effective business partnering relationship with other operational unit heads including the provision of timely and accurate unit performance reports.
Assist the President/CEO to locate and secure financing through:
- The preparation of business plans and financial projections.
- Representing PsychoGenics to investors.
- Helping sourcing and applying for other financing opportunities including governmental programs and grants.
Assist and advise the President/CEO as necessary on any other matters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting; CPA preferred.
10 - 15 years of progressive development in financial management responsibility including the management and development of finance/accounting staff.
Experience in the life sciences industry preferred.
Interested candidates should be able to work quickly and be adaptable and flexible.
Must be a strategic thinker and be "hands on" and able to dive into the details.
Must be eager to drive improvements and efficiencies.
Individual must be trustworthy and operate with high integrity.
Must be able to communicate financial matters/issues to non-finance staff in an understandable way.
Must be organized and able to plan and delegate the workload.
